Dell has packed its latest PC into a monitor stand

1 min read

Dell’s latest OptiPlex 7070 Ultra, based on an ultra-compact PC, has been built into the monitor stand by an interesting concept. For the small size, the company says you don’t have to sacrifice customization and the device can still be configured as you wish.

So, at first glance, the OptiPlex 7070 Ultra looks like a monitor, but in reality, it is a modular all-in-one solution that is housed in a monitor stand. The device is removable and configurable by removing the back of the stand – the stand itself is essentially only a housing. The PC module is about the size of a notebook battery, and features an Intel Whiskey Lake-U processor inside, up to the company’s core requirements with a quad-core Core i7 variant with UHD Graphics 620 graphics. The DDR4 RAM in the two SO-DIMM slots accommodates up to 64 gigabytes in total, plus a 1 terabyte NVMe SSD and an optional 2.5-inch 2 terabyte hard drive.

The Optiplex 7070 Ultra is expected to launch in the fall, with a net launch of $ 750. The solution will be best suited for enterprise environments that do not require dedicated graphics, where traditional all-in-one solutions require a more flexible tool – maximizing desk space.
