Things to consider when buying gamer accessories

5 min read

Ever since manufacturers have discovered that fans are willing to pay extra for almost anything, if it is written for being intended for gamers, the palette is expanding at an amazing rate. Gamer mouse, gamer headphones, gamer chair, gamer energy drink, but even gamer shorts that can wipe our sweaty palms into the absorbent layer on the side. There are dozens of brands to choose from, and if that doesn’t complicate you enough, there is a huge difference between prices. But the more expensive is not necessarily better, and no one will think that if you bet a few hundred thousand on a complete set, you will immediately dominate the games. In fact, a poorly-chosen, very expensive gamer accessory can only make things worse.

Gamer keyboard

The first question here is whether to choose a traditional or mechanical keyboard. We’ve written about the latter group before, they are obviously more durable and somewhat responsive, but they are also generally louder, and this can both disturb us or those we play with. After that, it is worth thinking about what games we usually play and whether they require any extra features. For example, for a CS: GO player, 10-15 macros are extra redundant, while an MMO fan’s food is likely to be greatly facilitated by these keys.
If you are playing at night and even typing (for example, to communicate with your teammates), you may want to choose a backlit keyboard that spends half a day in front of your monitor with a palm rest solution. If you want to maximize comfort and functionality very roughly, and in return are willing to give up other keys, you can opt for a completely separate 20-25 button gamer keypad that has nothing to do except what you need for gaming.

Gamer mouse

There are basically two things that differentiate gaming mice from those designed for everyday use: a high-quality sensor that allows precision movement and customization to get the most out of a plastic rod.
We find the best sensors in Logitech and Razer mice. A higher DPI does not necessarily mean a better sensor, and it is completely unnecessary to choose a 16,000 DPI mouse if you are going to play at 400-800 DPI anyway (obviously you will need a large mouse pad as you will have to push a lot mouse, but this is the best way to target the cursor to a specific point), but it is important that the mouse refreshes the cursor position on almost any surface, and does not jump or miss.
Here design also plays an important role: left-handed people, for example, must choose a left-handed or symmetrical mouse, otherwise they will have a very difficult task. Small-handed players are uncomfortable with larger mice, and in a huge palm, smaller rodents are lost. It doesn’t matter how we hold the mouse itself: whether we put our palms and fingers (palm-grip) or our fingers fully bent, we only press the buttons (claw-grip) with our fingertips, because there are some mice that prefer another use. When it comes to size and design, we can’t go without weight: there are those who are lighter, some who prefer heavier peripherals, but a mouse that is too heavy or too light is much more difficult to target accurately. Certain models can be weighted by ourselves, thus finding the perfect difficulty.
It is even more pronounced than the mice what games we play primarily. For FPSs, for example, a handy no-frills, no-button mouse is a good choice, while MMO and MOBA-style lovers will be much more pleased with a Razer Naga and its 12 buttons for extra features that are very difficult or not at all accessible on the keyboard.

Gamer headset

Here the first and most important thing is comfort. No matter how beautifully a headset sounds, if you close your ears so much that we are forced to take it off after an hour because our earlobes have completely numb, we will want it all to hell in a few days. Obviously, the size of our head shape and the size of our cloak will play a role in the choice, so if possible we should try the headset before buying. If, after an hour’s play, you don’t even feel like you have anything on your head, you’ve found the perfect piece. It doesn’t matter if we are chained to the machine or free to walk around the room with a wireless headset.
Headsets are at the forefront of the most frequently exchanged gamer stuff, which is usually caused by breakage or wear. Stretching the earplug several times a day when we put it on and off it will sooner or later become tired, and with a loud crack the stuff will remain in our hands. Of course, we can reduce the chances of doing so with a little care, or choose a model with a metal frame (like the HyperX Cloud earbuds, for example), which will certainly not break them. No matter what the padding of the ear pads is: cheap imitation leather covers tend to break soon, so it is better to choose fabric pads or to wear a pad that covers this part with real leather.
Obviously, the quality of sound is not the last aspect, either because we listen to music or play a game, we want to do it in the best possible quality. Sennheiser headphones are at the forefront in this area, but their microphone-equipped gamer solutions are quite expensive (if you have a very hollow ear, you can choose a standalone headset and a separate microphone). The Razer, HyperX, Astro, and Steelseries headphones are all well-rounded pieces, but Logitech and Turtle Beach are also possible. If you can, it is worth testing before you buy.
If you stay with the headset’s own microphone, it is worth considering whether it is fixed or removable. In the latter case, you can use the earpiece comfortably on the street for traveling, but if you have a microphone hanging around your neck when going between people, do not be surprised if a few people laugh.

Now that we’ve covered a few things, it’s time for you to visit our store and start shopping for amazing high-quality affordable gamer accessories at Bzfuture.
